چکیده
Research examining various psychological correlates of circadian type (also known as diurnal preference) has been, over the years, quite expansive. A notable omission within this research program would appear a systematic exploration of the relation between intelligence and morningness± eveningness. The present study redressed this imbalance. 420 participants performed two self-report inventories assessing circadian type, as well as measures of intelligence from two psychometric batteries: CAM-IV and the ASVAB. The results indicate that, contrary to conventional folk wisdom, eveningtypes are more likely to have higher intelligence scores. This result is discussed in relation to current theories concerning the nature of human cognitive abilities. # 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Psychometric data (19 variables) on the cognitive abilities of large samples of American white (W) and black (B) male armed services veterans were factor analyzed to test Spearman's hypothesis that variation in the size of the mean W±B dierence on various cognitive tests is directly related to variation in the size of the tests' loadings on the g factor. The hypothesis is strongly borne out by...

A lucid dream is de®ned as occurring when an individual becomes aware that they are dreaming, and, while remaining asleep, can control some of the events or content of the dream. Frequent lucid dreamers have previously been shown to be more internal on Rotter's Locus of Control (LOC) scale than are non-lucid dreamers. The present study found that frequent lucid dreamers (n = 22) had higher scor...

Just over two hundred telephone sales sta completed the Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) and Honey and Mumford's Learning Styles Questionnaire (LSQ). Extraversion was highly correlated both positively and negatively with three of the four LSQ measures. The lie scale from the EPI was also systematically correlated with the Activist and Re ̄ector scales of the LSQ. Both the EPI and LSQ traits ...
